Kinross is a town near the west shore of Loch Leven. It used to be in Kinross county, but Kinross county is now part of Tayside. The town of Kinross is separated from the Loch by golf courses that are larger than the town itself. Golf, hiking, biking and boating, the town’s charming high street, and the fact that Kinross is less than an hour’s drive from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and St Andrews make it a popular place for both visitors to Scotland and locals on holiday to stay.
Kinross’s great moment in history came when Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned in Leven castle in June, 1567. In May, 1568, she was freed by her supporters and escaped the island. Since then, things have been fairly quiet around Kinross. For the most part, residents like to spend time in their beautiful gardening sheds and workshops, many of which were supplied by Anchor Timber Buildings.
Anchor Timber Buildings, located just to the west of Glenrothes, is a timber building manufacturer that’s Scots owned and operated. We make lovely and durable timber outbuildings including garages, potting sheds, summerhouses, storage sheds, wooden playhouses and workshops.
We make over 60 standard models in all, each with a huge variety of options and each available in several sizes. We can manufacture bespoke buildings, too.
Our timber buildings are constructed of sustainably farmed timber, and they are sturdy, solid wood with high quality metal fittings. They can be finished to take advantage of the beauty of the natural redwood, or they can be painted.
